Wedding Cake for Emily & Justin

Emily wanted something simple for her garden wedding. No tiered cake, so she opted for sheet cakes.  One I decorated with white roses and tiny blue fondant flowers and their names, the other I scored into squares. Easy to serve.

Buttercream Ruffles

3 tier wedding cake with scrolls, string work and ruffles piped with vanilla buttercream. Cake flavors are 6″ red velvet with cream cheese filling, 9″ yellow butter cake and 12″ chocolate filled and iced in vanilla buttercream. Gold ribbon surrounds the 9″ and fresh white & pink roses for the top.

Charms and White Roses

Pull charms attached to white ribbon are tucked under rose nosegay.

And old southern custom revived. Made for a brides luncheon.

I made this cake for a bridesmaid luncheon but it would make a lovely small wedding cake with or without charms. Cake flavor, yellow butter cake with chocolate buttercream. Pink buttercream roses and cornelli lace design with a ruffle drape. 10″ + a single 6″ on top. The charms are tied to ribbon and inserted under roses.
